St. Peter Cathedral School is located in the heart of the inner-city Wilmington.  We are a visible sign of the church at work in the city of Wilmington.
St. Peter Cathedral School provides a quality education to students in grades PreK-8.  Grades PreK-K are full-day.  Grades 1-4 are self-contained. Grades 5-8 are departmentalized for two subjects.
The professional staff of St. Peter's consists of 15 certified and qualified teachers and staff members.  They demonstrate a strong belief and commitment to the Mission and Philosophy of the school.

St. Peter Cathedral School is accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools.

Our educational programs are based on State Standards and Diocesan Guidelines that identify the skills for each grade level.  The scope and sequence of texts dovetail with these requirements.  A variety of approaches that are both structured and flexible challenge students as they progress through each grade level.  A supportive and caring atmosphere, enriched with opportunities for cooperative learning and individual expression, enhances self-esteem and encourages students to reach the fullness of their potential.  The professional staff creates an atmosphere that is student-centered and based on Gospel values.

St. Peter's provides a morning care program for the children of working parents who need early supervision. Morning care is provided at 7:00 a.m. The school day begins at 8:15 a.m. Our children receive after care from several competent agencies in the city: e.g. Peoples' Settlement, the Salvation Army, Boys & Girls Club, the YMCA and Girls, Inc.

St. Peter Cathedral participates in the CYO basketball and track programs.  We have Varsity and Junior Varsity teams for boys and girls in Grades 5 through 8.  Our track team has participants from Grades 3 through 8.  Many of our students participate in sports' programs offered through the community.  We have a Girl Scout and Brownie organization under the leadership of one of our parents.  We also participate in Diocesan competitions.
